On the night of July 4, our reader was able to capture the emergence over Moscow rare noctilucent clouds.
In virtue of the physico-geographical and astronomical factors to observe noctilucent clouds from the Ground only in the middle latitudes between 43° and 60°, in the twilight, in 30-60 minutes after sunset, and at the same time before sunrise when the light is on 6—16º below the horizon.
Situated at a height of 70-90 km, they are illuminated from below the sun and acquire a unique silvery glow, which in turn is caused by scattering of light in the smallest ice crystals with a size of 6 microns.
