Vesa Vauhkonen from Finland took an unusual photo on June 10 — a pollen crown is imprinted on it.
Corona are light rings that surround a light source (in this case, the sun) when it is scattered by small particles. Tiny droplets of water in clouds can also form crowns, but pollen grains do it even better — they form intensely colored rings.
Pollen crowns have an elliptical appearance, since the underlying pollen grains are of the same shape.
