As the summer in Arctic Canada is about to end, in the air there is cold, heralding the approach of autumn.
The change of seasons also changes the morning sun, which is increasingly accompanied by a fabulous sun halo. Recently Stephen Bedingfield photographed the sunrise from the city of Yellowknife in the Northwest territories.
Luminescent shape caused by sunlight shining through ice crystals in Cirrus clouds. Usually the ice halo is a simple single pole, or a simple ring. But in this case we see around the sun several different halo: the upper and lower tangent arc, parry arc and the lower tangent arc of the halo of a large, Pergolesi circle, 22 ° halo and a couple of false suns.
A complex pattern was caused by a corresponding variety of ice crystals in the Northern morning air.
