It seems that something absolutely incredible is happening somewhere between these mountains. This is actually the launch of a space rocket.

Two weeks ago, was launched a carrier rocket Changzheng-3B (Long March 3B), developed by the Chinese research Institute of missile technology with the Chinese Association of space technology. The launch took place with Chinese cosmodrome Xichang (Xichang County, Sichuan province). The spaceport has been operating since 1984, its headquarters is located almost in the city center of Xichang. Along with the missile was launched 2 navigation satellites. The height of their orbit is about 2000 km above the Earth's surface, which greatly exceeds the orbit of the ISS, but below the orbit of geostationary satellites.
