In recent days, nature has been adding more and more warm shades to the picture of the surrounding world. More recently, the phenomenon of orange skies over Greece and other countries, as well as "rusty rains" in Russia, caused by wind-blown dust from the Sahara itself, was actively discussed on the web.
Now the sea water in Primorye has acquired the same color, in particular, in the waters of Fedorov Bay in Vladivostok. But in this case, it's not about dust, but about living microscopic organisms.
Planktonic algae, called Noctiluca scintillans, were brought to the coast by the surf when they entered the phase of active flowering. As a rule, this process is typical for the hottest time of the year, that is, summer, but now the phenomenon has been noticed much earlier.
The name of the algae says: at night they emit a beautiful glow, turning from orange to blue. Moreover, they do not pose any threat.
