This season, the amber coast has shown an example of a comfortable beach holiday. The uncharacteristically warm sea in the Baltic, combined with the heat well tolerated due to sea breezes, attracted thousands of tourists.

But the western periphery of the anticyclone, where dry superheated continental air meets the cool moisture of the Atlantic, is fraught with colorful and at the same time dangerous phenomena associated with violent convection. Such a fascinating scenario was witnessed by vacationers on Yantarny Beach in the afternoon of July 13.

A squall gate in the form of a dense dark cloud shaft under the base of a cumulonimbus cloud attracted attention. But the captivating element was not disinterested. Just a few minutes later, I had to get wet under a heavy downpour with a thunderstorm.
