On Monday, August 2, an active cyclone passed through the north-west and the center of the country, bringing with it showers, thunderstorms and strong winds.

In the Tver region there was a rare phenomenon for the region — a tornado. It was recorded on video by eyewitnesses near the city of Andreapol.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations said that a complex of adverse events arose due to the elements, as a result of which houses were damaged, electricity supply was disrupted, dozens of trees were felled.

According to Interfax, three people were killed and 10 were injured.
