British police found on the beach in the district of Ottery St. Mary "monster fish" length of more than one meter. This was reported in the microblog on Twitter of the local police.
The unusual creature is a conger fish, better known as a sea eel. She was washed up on a local beach at high tide. Female sea eels can reach a length of three meters and weigh up to 100 kg.
The Conger is found in the Eastern Atlantic from West Africa to the Bay of Biscay, as well as in the Mediterranean Sea. Sometimes the sea eel is also found in the North Sea.
