A rare fish that lives only in the southern hemisphere, beached on the coast of Santa Barbara in California, reports "bi-Bi-si".
The emergence of a Pisces sun with a length of 2.1 meters, has puzzled scientists: it is unclear how the fish, which is also called "the deceiver", was so far from their native waters.
Intern at the University of California (USA) noticed a "stranger" in the nature reserve of Coal oil point. The researchers took several days to identify the species of fish, which was first discovered only in 2014.
Photo of a giant fish was posted on the page of the reserve on Facebook, and experts from around the world took part in identity creation.
The sunfish is called "deceiver", since she managed to escape from the scientists for many years.
Marianne, Nyegaard, a marine biologist, who discovered the fish and gave it a name, says "I fell" when I saw the pictures thrown on the shore fish of California.
"When there are more clear pictures of doubt remained, she says. — Most interesting — what made the fish cross the equator".
"Deceiver" weighs 2 tons. Usually these fish prefer more temperate waters, for example along the coast of Chile or New Zealand.
