I think dragons only exist in fairy tales? Maybe, but sometimes reality isn't less magical. Just look at this picture of a huge green glow that erupted in the skies over Iceland in early February.
The Aurora was caused by charged particles of the solar wind spewing from coronal holes on the Sun. The wind flow followed the changing interplanetary magnetic field to the magnetosphere. When some of these particles hit the earth's atmosphere, they excite atoms, causing their emission.
The sight was so impressive that the mother of the photographer ran out to look at the sky and accidentally hit the frame. In February there were many days that gave observers an unforgettable light show. But all this time the Sun was observed spots, each of auroral activity has been a pleasant surprise.
