In the Black Sea water area, the water turned red — tourists reported a bright natural phenomenon near the village of Praskoveyevka (near Gelendzhik, near the Parus rock).
The press service of the Gelendzhik City Hall said that this phenomenon is not uncommon and happens more than once a year on the entire Black Sea coast.
The water turns red because of macrophyte algae. Warm water is especially favorable for them when its temperature fluctuates within 30 degrees.
It is noted that the red water near the Parus Rock did not cause any inconvenience for vacationers — they usually do not swim there, and there is a beach nearby where the water has not changed color.
