The "Red Tide" was noted near the Vladivostok shores. The water here has acquired a bright orange hue due to algae blooming, according to IA PrimaMedia.
A similar phenomenon has been recorded on Russian Island and Tsesarevich Embankment.
As explained by the expert T. Orlova, the redness of the water was due to the microalgae noctiluca (it is also called "noctiluca"). In the process of its vital activity, there is no production of toxic substances, so it is absolutely safe for the human body.
But whatever it was, the abundant "red tides" are fraught with a lack of oxygen in the water, which can kill the inhabitants of the sea. Just this phenomenon caused the mass death of marine life in Kamchatka two years ago.
Before that, noctiluca bloomed in Primorye, but closer to the autumn season and still not as intensively as in Vladivostok.
