A bright meteor lit up the sky over Norway. The incident happened last Saturday, November 19, in the evening. The car could be seen in the south of the country.

When the meteor burned up in the atmosphere, a multicolored flash flickered in the sky, which scared the locals very much. Some even called the police.

An eyewitness of the incident, Per Scrum, said that at first he confused the meteor with a car driving with the high beam turned on.

"But then I looked up at the sky and saw a massive light that swept across the sky with a long blue tail behind it," the man noted.

Employees of the Norwegian Meteorological Institute explained that the meteor belongs to the annual meteor shower, which is called the Northern Taurids.

"It was very powerful and completely burned up in the atmosphere," Norwegian Meteor Network founder Morten Ticket told reporters.
