Residents of a number of American states saw a bright meteor in the sky on Tuesday, June 25.

The American Meteor Community received at least 11 reports of a "fireball" from eyewitnesses. The celestial body was spotted over Louisiana and Texas at about 04:58 world time.

Eyewitnesses captured the incredible sight in photos and videos.

The footage shows how the meteor appears in the dawn sky and flies for several seconds before disappearing.
