The land of dreams from Ossetian mythology. A meadow belonging to the dead, which some people may visit in their dreams.
Visitors can bring wonderful seeds of good luck, but sometimes they are haunted by the dead. And inexperienced souls can bring back fever and illness.
Probable origin
Gershevich (together with V.I. Abaev) compares the name Kurys with Mount Kaoiris in Yashta 19.6 (Avestan *Karwisa), which may indicate that the name is a false remnant of the legend of the origin of Airian Vaeji Alan (considered in Zoroastrianism to be the birthplace of the first Iranians and the place where Zarathustra received religion from Ahura Mazda).
