The year is 1980, the county of West Yorkshire, a rural area near the town of Todmore Den. It happened in the early morning of November 29, between 05:10 and 05:50. Policeman Alan Godfrey, driving in a patrol car along the highway, noticed a strange object slowly flying over a herd of cows. He immediately turned onto a side road to get closer to the herd and see what was going on there. But Alan did not remember what happened to him from that moment on and for the next 40 minutes.

He was able to partially "recall" the events that had fallen out of his memory only later, during a session of regressive hypnosis.

It turned out that, having arrived at the pasture, the policeman got out of the car and began to examine the object that hung motionless over the field. Suddenly, a bright beam of white light hit Alan in the face from the UFO. He wanted to hide from the blinding beam in the car, but instead found himself lying on a large table inside a brightly lit spacious room. There were some humanoid creatures around. A very tall "humanoid" approached the table and communicated something to him telepathically. The policeman couldn't remember what exactly. The next moment, he was driving a car and was already driving along the highway.

Alan still does not remember his abduction in a normal state, but his report of UFO sightings was confirmed by two other policemen from the city of Halifax in West Yorkshire - Howard Thornpenny and John Porter, who saw an unknown luminous object flying towards Todmorden. And then there were witnesses among the locals who saw UFOs over the pasture at the very time when Alan Godfrey was "captured" by the Enlonauts.

That evening, Policeman A. Godfrey was patrolling the neighborhood of Todmorden. Initially, everything happened as standard — he drove slowly in a company car along Burnley Road. His task was to search for the missing cattle the day before. Godfrey hoped that the cows were just grazing in the meadows outside the city, as it seemed to him that they could not go anywhere else.

The most interesting thing that alerted the policeman initially was the absence of footprints, despite the fact that the ground was quite wet. Godfrey decided to end his unsuccessful search late at night, when the weather worsened and visibility, respectively, too. The tired policeman was going to go to the station to make a report on the search. However, he did not manage to get to the station.

When an unidentified brightly glowing object approached the policeman at the maximum distance, he saw that there was something wrong with him. The device did not touch the road, had an oval shape, and did not make much noise. It seemed like he was floating through the air. Godfrey had never seen anything like this before, so he panicked.

The shocked policeman grabbed the folder in which he was drawing the route and began trying to depict on paper what he saw in front of him. Suddenly, Alan was blinded by the brightest light, after which he allegedly lost consciousness. The policeman woke up a few seconds later, as it seemed to him, in his car in the same position as he had been before. The strange feeling did not leave him. The glowing flying object was no longer on the road. The policeman tried to put his thoughts together, but it continued to seem to him as if he could not remember something.

Alan got out of the car, looked around and noticed a dry oval-shaped patch on the asphalt. It was located exactly where the UFO was hovering. When he got to the police station, Godfrey noticed that his watch was 15 minutes behind. The policeman doubted for a long time whether it was worth writing about it in the report, but the desire to find out if he was the only witness to the event did not leave him. Gathering his thoughts, he outlined the situation in the report as competently as possible.

A little later it turned out that on that fateful evening he was not the only one watching an unidentified glowing object. At about the same time that Alan was looking at the UFO, a shocked truck driver called the police, who also saw the object and wanted to report it. In addition, the UFO saw a squad of police officers who were looking for a stolen motorcycle that had sunk in the marshes of Calder Valley that evening.

Alan's report quickly got into the local newspaper, after which ufologists contacted him. Scientists were attracted by the fact that Godfrey described UFOs in great detail, as well as the fact that 15 minutes of his life had disappeared somewhere.

A group of researchers from Manchester came to the eyewitness. Ufologists initially wanted to examine the policeman's belongings, which he was wearing that evening. Scratches were found on his shoes, on the basis of which, experts determined that the victim was dragged. Godfrey himself did not remember any such events, so he could not explain anything.

Erased memory, according to ufologists, is another sign of alien abduction. The scientists decided to conduct a deep hypnosis session with Alan (this is what they always do when they need to find out information that has been erased from memory).

A policeman under hypnosis said that after the flash his car stalled, and he lost consciousness. Then he remembered waking up in a strange room that smelled disgusting. The room looked more like a home than a spaceship cabin. On the floor next to the policeman sat a huge dog, quite ordinary, earthly.

Alan noticed a man standing nearby with a strange appearance. The "biblical" clothes of this person were especially alarming. The man silently (most likely telepathically) gave his name — Joseph. Then he called his servants to him — small humanoid creatures that looked like fairy trolls mixed with five-year-old children. Their heads were disproportionately large, like a light bulb.

The aliens explained to the policeman that they had arrived from the Zeta Network. Josef asked Godfrey about his life, asked various provocative questions. The strangest thing is that the policeman did not recall any physical manipulations (operations, implantation of a certain chip, taking samples of skin and other tissues for analysis).

After such a story, Godfrey wished to see psychiatrists. They (independent doctors from the policeman's hometown) conducted all sorts of tests, after which they determined that Alan was absolutely mentally healthy. The bosses were initially skeptical of Godfrey's stories, but did not hint at his dismissal, as is the case with most of the "kidnapped".

Gradually, the policeman's story was forgotten, as representatives of the local press switched to more interesting incidents.

A new book by policeman Andy Russell, entitled "Testimony, volume 1: Alien Abduction in the UK", contains information about the most mysterious cases that occurred on the territory of the United Kingdom. This is reported by Daily Star.

One of the most intriguing cases described in the book is the story of police officer Alan Godfrey. When he was on patrol in Todmorden (West Lancashire) Godfrey encountered an inexplicable phenomenon. While searching for the missing cows, he noticed a strange object in the sky. An attempt to call for help by radio was unsuccessful – the connection was suddenly interrupted. The object disappeared as suddenly as it appeared, and the policeman himself was moved 30 yards down the road. A damaged area was found on his shoe, and a strange red mark was found on his foot.

Godfrey claims that after meeting with a UFO for 30 minutes, he did not remember what happened. However, during the hypnotic regression, he remembered how a bright ray of light blinded him and made him lose consciousness. When he woke up, he found himself in a room where he was being examined by small creatures and a humanoid.

The author of the book Andy Russell considers this case to be one of the most fascinating.

"One evening he was looking for some stray cows and came across a UFO. With the help of hypnosis, he revealed the whole abduction experience. He was taken to the ship, where the typical kidnapping experience began," Andy says.

Andy believes that UFO phenomena are often viewed through the prism of American observations, ignoring other regions of the world. Therefore, Russell's book describes the history of alien abductions, shifting the focus to the UK, and not to the USA, as is usually the case.

Andy's interest in this topic began in the 1980s, when he himself had several encounters with UFOs.

"In the early 80s, I saw a couple of black ships, similar to triangles, and very abnormal lights in the sky. It made me interested in this phenomenon," he recalls.

Andy also spent about a year at the British alien Abduction support group, where he observed meetings and discussions, studying people's stories about their experiences.

"I met a lot of abductees, and that piqued my interest," he adds.

However, not everything is so clear. In 2018, Alan Godfrey, already retired, stated that his alleged abduction was probably nothing more than a dream.

"I never said that I was abducted by aliens," he admitted.

Original news

A British police officer claimed he was once "abducted by aliens" as he was looking for some lost cows.

Author Andy Russell lifted the lid on some supposed UK victims of supposed UFO abductions as he appeared on the latest episode of The Alien UFO podcast, hosted by Simon Bown.

Andy's new book, titled 'Testimony Volume 1: Alien Abduction in the UK, includes the case of Alan Godfrey. He was on patrol in Todmorden, West Lancashire at the time described how after seeing the UFO he tried to radio for help but it had stopped working.

Bizzarely the the strange object in the sky disappeared but he had somehow been transported 30 yards down the road and discovered that he'd damaged his boot and has a peculiar red mark on his foot.

He claims to have had no recollection of what had happened in the 30 minutes previous. But during hypnotic regression, he recalled how a beam of light blinded him and made him pass out, before waking up inside a room being medically examined by small beings and a humanoid.

Author Andy says: "I mean that's a fascinating case. He was bizarrely looking for some lost cows one evening and he was driving through a housing estate when he came across a UFO.

"He basically had very little memory of anything happening until later and through exploration with hypnosis he uncovered this whole sort of abduction experience. Where he was taken to this craft and then had the sort of typical abduction experience starts there."

The book gives a unique twist on alien abduction's by shifting the focus onto the UK rather than those seen in the US as Andy feels that all to regularly UFO phenomena is viewed through the prism of US sightings rather than those spotted in other areas of the globe.

Andy's book, in part, is inspired by his time spent with the UK Alien Abduction Support Group, speaking about he came to meet them he said: "During my time interested in UFOs, I met a lot of abductees, quite a few actually because once you meet one, I think you start to meet a lot of others. They invited me purely as an observer because they knew I'd done some training in hypnotherapy and psychotherapy in the past.

He added: "I spent about a year with that group, turning up to the meetings, discussions and the sort of interplay between them all as characters, and seeing the stories that came forth from them of past experiences or experiences that they might have had happen to them."

Andy claims that his interest was initially peaked in the 1980s when he had a few encounters of his own, saying "In the early 80s, I had a few UFO experiences and I've seen a couple of black triangular like crafts, I've seen very anomalous lights in the sky and that got me very interested in the whole phenomena.

False memories

A person remembers an event, a fragment or a detail that did not actually happen.

They can be formed independently or under the influence of methods of memory recovery therapy (Recovered-memory therapy or RMT), such as regressive hypnosis, guided visualization, drug therapy for memory recovery, etc .In this case, there is an effect called imagination inflation.
