Skepticism about "flying saucers"
BOMBAY, October 13. - Meteorologists here were skeptical about reports in Bombay about "flying saucers" that were seen flying over the city in the last few days.
However, meteorologists from the Santa Cruz Weather Bureau yesterday appealed to people to warn the Bureau as soon as they see any flying saucer.
They said they would do a scientific study of the object if they noticed such a thing.
Yesterday there were rumors that people saw flying saucers. Some claimed to have seen it around midnight last week, and described it as a glowing flying disk moving at an amazing speed. Others said they had seen a saucer emitting" wreaths of fire " and believed that its diameter was about one foot. It was also reported that he was seen at noon at a high altitude.
Meteorologists at the Colaba Observatory said that the weather balloons sent every day could cause an optical illusion. They also said that such an illusion was created by an airplane flying at a high altitude in the moonlight.
