Initial data
The action takes place 25 kilometers from Mexico City. Covering more than seven hectares, the mass formation of so-called "crop circles" appeared in a barley field in Texcoco, Mexico, overnight, on Christmas Eve. Unlike typical formations in the fields, this time we do not see any specific artistic formation, an irregular pattern has appeared on barley.
The authorities informed the public about the incident, and while Mexican federal and municipal officials were still studying and determining what could be the cause of the formations, the images were distorted by a chaotic crowd of two thousand random visitors. So much so that the authorities should have (suspiciously?) invite local security guards to protect the place from vandalism while they study crop circles.
Like gifts left by Santa Claus, "crop circles" appeared on Christmas morning. And several witnesses reported seeing a bright light in the area the night before.
But these Mexican formations strangely lack the complexity or intricacy that are noted in most cases, which gives the right to social media covering this topic to assume that the image was created by aliens after a "dashing party" on Christmas Eve.
As of today, the mystery of the crop circles in Texcoco remains completely unexplained.
Hypotheses
The wind
Wind — flow of air, which quickly moves parallel to the earth's surface.
Wind is the result of uneven distribution of atmospheric pressure and is directed from areas of high pressure to the low pressure zone. Due to the continuous pressure changes in time and space speed and wind direction are constantly changing. With height wind speed varies with the decrease of the friction force.
Winds can affect the formation of the relief, causing Eolian deposits that form different kinds of soils (e.g., loess) or erosion.
Lodging of plants on the field
It is believed that the phenomenon of "circles" has been known for about 400 years. All formations are known for this period, by origin can be divided into two types: natural and artificial.
Annually, researchers, journalists and witnesses encounter a lot of strange shapes in the fields. It's happening everywhere. Often the pattern has no apparent logic, but the skillful application of imagination it can be. As a rule, the cause of the formations is one or more natural factors.
Investigation
Based on the appearance - these plants were felled by gusts of wind.
