Initial data
In the suburbs of the Swedish city of Engelholm in 1963, a monument was erected in memory of the alleged UFO landing, which was witnessed by Swedish hockey player Gosta Carlsson (Gösta Carlsson) on May 18, 1946.
According to Karlsson, he saw a flying saucer land in a clearing, and strange-looking figures began to repair it. In his first meeting with them, Gosta came into contact with the commander of the ship, and a little later, at night, when he was sleeping, he was taken aboard a UFO in a trance state.
Many doubt the authenticity of the story.
Hypotheses
Deliberate falsification
This version includes any falsifications that imitate unexplained phenomena both from the outside: practical jokes, flash mobs, fake news, witness fraud, staging, etc.
There are many ways to make something similar to a ghost or a flying saucer from improvised materials, without using video and photomontage.
Many homemade things made for the sake of a joke, a practical joke or a direct imitation of a mystical being or event can be taken as unexplained not only in photos and videos, but also in reality.
