A mom who was called "stupid" for her belief in ghosts believes she was vindicated after she took a creepy picture of a figure in a Victorian dress in an ancient cemetery.
Mandy Steele, 45, photographed the ghostly figure during a family outing to Tynemouth Castle and Monastery in North Tyneside with her son and daughter on August 13.
A cleaner from Sunderland noticed a mysterious figure dressed in old-fashioned clothes, including a long hat and coat, near Cliffside Cemetery when she was returning home to look at her pictures.
Now she is convinced that she managed to capture a paranormal spirit on camera in a historical place that dates back to the 7th century, especially since the photos from the same area on her daughter's phone do not show anything reprehensible.
Mom-of-two Mandy said it proves that her belief in the paranormal has been confirmed.
“I really believe in ghosts. People say I'm stupid because of this, but now we have solid evidence," she said.
Mandy said she was "really shocked" the moment she noticed the figure in the photos.
She said: "I was really shocked when I came home that evening and started looking through the photos of that day.
What caught my eye was the costume. It was a sunny day, a foggy fog was coming. We were all in shorts and T-shirts, but she was in a full dress. This hat is not from our time, not even a dress, and she was looking at South Shields Beach."
She said the picture taken at the same time showed no signs of a woman on her daughter's phone.
Mandy continued: “
This place has a lot of history, so I started researching and discovered that the ghosts of a Viking named Olaf had been seen here before. There was also talk about a woman in white, but this one doesn't seem to be dressed in white, so it remains a mystery who she might be. I tried to contact the monastery and the National Foundation to see if they could provide any historical context, but they didn't help at all."In February last year, Newcastle paranormal researcher Kayleigh Woods said she photographed a ghost in a Benedictine monastery.
Many believed that the black shadow in the form of a man was a Viking named Olaf, who, according to rumors, often visits this place.

Illusions associated with the refraction and reflection of light
Reflection is a physical process of interaction of waves or particles with the surface, changing the direction of the wave front at the boundary of two media with different properties, in which the wave front returns into the medium from which it came. The reflection may be specular (that is, such as is observed when using a mirror) or diffuse (in this case, the reflection is not saved the path of the rays from the object, but only the energy component of the luminous flux) depending on the nature of the surface.
