On April 18, 1980, he flew on a TTU-134A aircraft on the Vilnius-Rostov-Baku route. The flight from Rostov to Baku was performed at an altitude of 10200 m. After the passage of Mineral Waters, we set a course for Kizlyar. And that's when our place is from the Mines.The water was A = 90 degrees and the speed was 220 km, it was from Grozny to the left relative to our flight, I saw a condensation trail stretching from the horizon a = 330 degrees with A = 150-160. It was very clearly visible, as it was illuminated by the rays of the setting Sun. But the device forming this trail continued to approach our highway. and what we saw, i.e. the crew and all the passengers, was such an impressive sight that I had to report to the Mine dispatcher. When I asked if the dispatcher saw any target to our left, he replied that he did not see it. The height of the condensation trail is about 12-15 km.
If the initial section of the trail looked pale and already curved by the wind flow, then approaching us it became dazzlingly bright-white, and split into two streams. It seemed that two fighters were flying in formation, one of them seemed to be flying a little ahead, and the trail changed its color due to the afterburner?!
And suddenly, the incredible began to happen - the trace took the shape of an ellipse, then again acquired a straight line. After a while, when I already saw a glowing dot in front of the trail, the trail began to describe circular movements around this point, and then everything was gone. The co-pilot says that he saw a glowing dot receding, but he could have been mistaken, because the stars had already appeared in the eastern part of the sky.
When all this disappeared, a green spot formed, at first very pale, then it acquired a brighter color and a certain shape. Turning over I watched the kizlyar on Baku for a long time from the left-behind a vague trail, and the spot accompanied me for a very long time until it disappeared from view. I asked the crew of the plane that was flying towards me if they could see the green spot, and received the answer that they could clearly see it.
We observed all this phenomenon on 04/18/80 in 19-04.
I have been flying in civil aviation for 24 years. I observed a lot of all kinds of phenomena in nature, I saw a spacecraft descending, flying in the Donetsk region at 9,000 m, which landed in the Arkalyk area. It's a unique sight. But this is the first time I've seen this, that's why I came to you.
