Initial data
A certificate of UFO sightings on 05/19/78 in Moscow.
Witness: Konikov Vladimir Markovich.
Participants of the observation: Stanislav E. Suvilo, Natalia Nikolaevna Kolesnikova (engineers).
On May 19, 1978, on Friday, I was sitting with friends on a bench near my house No. 5 on Konenkova Street in Bibiriv. The sky was clear, there was a crescent moon on it, the sun had set. We were talking about UFOs.
At 22-27, to the right of the Moon, from south to north directly above us, a matte "ball" of bluish-steel color quickly flew through the zenith. It flew silently, without blinking, passing an angle of about 120 degrees in 20-30 seconds (I was looking at my watch).
In angular dimensions, the "ball" was slightly larger than the aeronautical fire of a low-flying aircraft (passenger). It seemed to me that there was a grid on its bright surface.
The trajectory of his movement was apparently a smooth arc, because he appeared not from around the corner of the horizon, but from some point in the sky, seemed to descend smoothly, and then he went up again. We observed his flight just in the plane of his trajectory and saw it as a straight line.
There were 2 "old" contrails from airplanes in the sky at that time, yellowish, illuminated by the setting sun.
They went almost exactly from east to west. The "ball" passed much higher than them and had a different color. I realized that it is self-luminous, does not reflect sunlight.
Compared to the movement of satellites, which I have repeatedly observed, the speed of movement of the "ball" was significantly higher. It can be compared, perhaps, only with the speed of a fighter at low altitude, however, it was not an airplane.
My observations coincided with those of my acquaintances.
