Despite huge changes in the flora, fauna, climate and landscape on Earth are still a lot mysterious. In the world around us there are so bright and unusual natural phenomena that they could easily be mistaken for manifestations of the supernatural.

The witch's circles

Deep in the forest or even in your own backyard you can find circles of mushrooms or dark green grass. This is a fairly common phenomenon called Wicca circles, rings of fairies or elves. Once they were associated with supernatural forces and considered dangerous for mere mortals.

According to the report of the University of Pennsylvania, a mysterious ring formed by colonies of fungi that live in the soil and the dry grass. These colonies receive food from decaying organic matter and grow in the radial direction, increasing from year to year.

Herbal rings are due to nitrogenous substances produced by the breakdown of organic matter by fungi.

Fox lights

Fox light (from the English. foxfire) is a mushroom which can glow due to bioluminescence, which is the result of chemical interactions between certain types of fungi and rotting wood.

These little whitish glowing mushrooms usually grow on dead wood forest, especially where the earth is damp or wet, e.g. in the tropics. Depending on species they can glow in different shades of blue, green, yellow.

According to the naval Ministry USA, Fox lights were used to illuminate the barometer "Turtle", the world's first combat submarine that was used during the American war for independence.

The ability to emit light have also some species of bacteria, insects, algae, vertebrate and invertebrate sea creatures. Among the most common bioluminescent organisms are fireflies.

Shining waves and coastline

Another phenomenon, called bioluminescence, phytoplankton, which light up the coastal waters and gives the waves a cosmic neon lights.

Phytoplankton is a type of microalgae that live on the surface of sea water. When their rocking waves or pulses passing fish, they emit bright blue light.

These light-emitting organisms are present exclusively in salt water, which is supposed to be vital for the chemical reaction.

Antarctic blood flow

If shining coastline may seem tempting magic, the Taylor glacier in Antarctica is far more intimidating sight — the resultant waterfall colors of the surrounding ice in a bloody hue.

For many years the Bloody waterfall was considered to be the result of the development of algae that live in the cold climate of Antarctica, but recently scientists have uncovered the true cause.

According to the latest report published AccuWeather, the source of the stream is an ancient lake age 5 million years. The water is rich in iron, which is oxidized when comes in contact with air. This gives the stream a blood-red hue.

The study was conducted by specialists of the University of Alaska Fairbanks and Colorado College. To determine the exact place where flowing water was used the radio-wave sensing.

A fiery stream Santa Fe

Divers looking for new adventures and most impressive wonders of the world, you can safely go in high springs in the U.S. state of Florida. Recently, a lover of the underwater world from Pennsylvania, who visited the area, took the video from under the water surface on the river Santa Fe, when the top was raging firestorm.

According to diver, scene was fantastic!

Due to the high level of tannic acid coming from the roots of cypress trees, the river, Santa Fe and painted in a murky tea color. When it is combined with 80 million gallons of clean water from the system Devil Spring System, the tea water is twisted and mixed, creating the sun effect firestorms.
