Yesterday there was a total solar eclipse. To see it, you had to fly to Antarctica. Peter Goralek sent this picture taken at an altitude of 41,000 feet above the Weddell Sea.
"Despite the pandemic, many people went on a journey to see this spectacular eclipse," says Goralek. Some were lucky enough to set foot on the "sixth continent", others went on a cruise on a ship, and the third group flew high above the clouds. I was one of them, traveling on one of two separate planes inside the shadow of the moon."
Joerg Schopmeier was there too.
"The view here is the same as that of Pyotr Goralek, but from a different plane," he says.
