Every night during geomagnetic storms of class G2 green polar lights magical light filled the sky over the border of Canada and the US, This light show was not very extensive, but many observers noticed how the sky was painted a pale green color.
"I was delighted to see Aurora for the first time in a while. One of the staff even got hit by a meteor!" says Kevin Palmer, who captured a picture of the town of Parkman in the U.S. state of Wyoming.
The Aurora was observed in other US States, including Montana, Iowa, Washington, North Dakota and Alaska. Another episode of geomagnetic storms expected in about five days. Observers in the Northern regions should keep your camera at the ready and monitor the forecasts.
The glow of the magnetosphere occurs when subjected to high-energy particles coming from the Sun called the solar wind.
