Due to the sudden warming in St. Petersburg, blue-green algae bloomed in the Gulf of Finland. From the outside, it seems as if paint was poured into the water.

This color, which makes these algae completely unique, is explained by the high level of the blue pigment phycocyanin, which they contain. The day before, this phenomenon was recorded in Baltiysk, Kaliningrad region.
