A meteor fireball swept over several cities in Brazil on January 14, Meteoroides reports.
A large number of observers could see the light path of a celestial body that flew over the south of Spain in the Castile-La Mancha region. In particular, the car was spotted at an altitude of about 86 km above the southwest of the province of Ciudad Real and moved with a trajectory to the east, where it disappeared at an altitude of about 23 km above the same province.
The fireball originated from an asteroid rock that crashed into the Earth's atmosphere at a speed of about 48,000 km/h. Preliminary analysis of this event shows that a small part of the meteoroid survived in the atmosphere and reached the earth in the form of a meteorite.
This bright celestial body was registered by the Meteor Network of Southwestern Europe as part of the SMART project.
