A bright thunderous meteor raced over the English Channel

An extremely bright fireball flew across the night sky over the English Channel and exploded with a loud sound. The event was recorded on September 5 at 21: 48 GMT, according to The Watchers.

The meteor's impressive flight was captured by numerous video recorders and observatories.

The International Meteor Organization (IMO) received 250 reports from eyewitnesses on both sides of the strait, many people heard deafening pops and explosions produced by a celestial object.

The event seemed frightening to many because of the intensity of the flash and rumble caused by it. According to experts from the IMO, the meteor entered the atmosphere over the Atlantic Ocean near Brittany and headed north, passing the extreme point of the region and completely burning up over the English Channel.
