At the opening ceremony of the Olympic games in South Korea were shown a video lead-in, where a small glowing drones lined up in various shapes, e.g. silhouettes of sportsmen and the Olympic rings. Within five minutes in the air were simultaneously 1218 drones, which is an absolute record.
The size of the aircraft, developed by Intel, is only 38 × 38 cm and a weight of about 280 g. Each drone has multi-colored LEDs, GPS-sensor, four-propeller, and battery for 20 minutes flight time. Movement along a predetermined path is programmed in advance and controlled remotely.
The light show was shown in the record as to the time of the Olympics over the air zone's Pyongyang and two South Korean cities were declared no-fly.
