The fact of a meteorite explosion over the United States at the end of April was confirmed by NASA

NASA confirmed that the fiery object that swept over the southern states of the United States last month was a meteorite. The cosmic body burst into the atmosphere at a speed of about 60,000 km/h and exploded near the borders of Louisiana and Mississippi.

Many residents of these states, as well as Arkansas, saw the uninvited guest with their own eyes and heard the loud sound of clapping. According to experts, when the meteor was destroyed, the release of energy was equivalent to three tons of TNT.

NASA said that in the future they will not deal with potential meteorites, and all those interested in such issues should henceforth turn to a specialized website Washington University (St. Louis).

Agency representatives explained this by the fact that NASA's tasks include protecting astronauts and spacecraft from unwanted objects, and not searching for the latter on the Earth's surface. Citizens were asked not to send any more pictures of meteorite fragments.
