On the third of January, the first New Year's starfall will be shed – at the peak of the activity of the Quadrantid meteor shower, up to 120 meteors per hour are expected, according to the website of the Moscow Planetarium.
Experts noted that the best time for observations is from midnight to dawn. Moreover, visibility conditions are ideal throughout the country.
The region of the celestial sphere, which seems to be the source of meteors, is located in the constellation Volopas.
There, on the planetarium's website, they reminded that on New Year's Eve (until January 7) there will be good conditions when in the evening you can see all the planets at once, except Mars (it is observed in the morning sky).
