Incredible aurora was observed in the sky over Sweden

Over the snow-covered landscape in Payala, near the Swedish-Finnish border, on February 10, it was possible to observe the amazing beauty of the Northern lights, Reuters reports.

At times, the dancing northern lights had rare red pulses.

As you know, the northern lights (aurora borealis) are created by charged particles of the solar wind attracted by the Earth's magnetic field.

The most common color of the northern lights – pale green - is given by oxygen molecules located at an altitude of more than 95 km from the Earth's surface. Red flashes, which can be observed very rarely, are associated with oxygen at an altitude of up to 300 km.

It is best to observe this phenomenon in Norway, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, Sweden, the USA and Canada.
