This year, the eta-Aquarids meteor shower is active from April 19 to May 28, it is also called the May Aquarids. These days, our planet passes through the plume of Halley's comet. These particles enter the Earth's atmosphere at an altitude of up to 120 km.
The radiant of the stream is in the constellation Aquarius, from which it gets its name. This stream is very beautiful, its meteors are bright, with a long trail, like the meteors of the October Orionids. In the Southern Hemisphere and in the tropics, you can see up to 55 meteors per hour in the peak. However, further north, we can see up to 30 meteors per hour.
In the middle latitudes, the flow is well observed from 2 to 4 o'clock in the morning, before dawn, away from the light. Meteors can be seen over the southeastern horizon.
