On August 19,the Brazilian city of Santa Filomena was "covered" by a meteor shower. Space rocks about 5 billion years old rained down from the sky and hit the earth. This is reported by the information publication "LADbible".

According to experts, the fallen fragments of the meteorite consist of ancient minerals, the cost of which is very high on the market. When this became known, local residents rushed to search for the broken pieces. The largest fragment of the meteorite weighed about 40 kilograms. To the owner of such a copy immediately lined up from those who want to buy such a precious find. Some were willing to pay for it 27 thousand us dollars (almost 2 million Russian rubles).

Collectors and scientists from all over the world rushed to Santa Filomena to get hold of the precious fragments and study them carefully. Wealthy Brazilians began to buy up pieces of the meteorite EN masse in order to resell them abroad at a higher price.

Some researchers believe that the Brazilian government should urgently ban the export of the meteorite abroad, as the country loses an excellent opportunity to explore the pieces of Paroda, as well as attract even more tourists.

Most meteorites fall to Earth in August and September. During this period, our planet passes through small asteroid belts. At the same time, the main part of space rocks melts in the atmosphere before reaching the Earth's surface. Only a few survive extreme temperature changes and hit the ground.
