This bright "fireball" was spotted over Spain on July 26. It was almost as bright as the full moon. The fireball was observed by random eyewitnesses who reported it on social networks.
The event was generated by a rock (meteoroid) from an asteroid that crashed into the atmosphere at a speed of about 57,000 km/h. A fireball flew over the south of Spain. It started at an altitude of about 104 km above the province of Jaen, moved to the southeast and ended at an altitude of about 26 km above the province of Granada.
