In the province of Akkar, located in Northern Lebanon, local residents witnessed the fall of a meteorite near the village of al-Talil.

According to the national Agency of Lebanon NNA, the celestial body landed directly on the plantation, which led to a major fire.

The Libnanews publication quotes astrophysicist Sirina Nehme. The expert says that the fall of the meteorite may be associated with the Leonids meteor shower.

It is usually characterized by fast meteors entering the atmosphere at a speed of 71 kilometers per second. However, the intensity may vary from year to year.
