A meteorite flew in the sky over Japan

The meteorite flew over several areas of Honshu Island on Tuesday night. The celestial body was recorded by stationary cameras of the NHK TV channel.

According to eyewitnesses, a "fireball" flew in the sky, after which a sound similar to an explosion was heard. It is assumed that fragments of the meteorite could reach the earth. At the moment, there is no information about any damage in connection with the incident.

In the summer of 2020, a meteorite flew over Tokyo. After that, two of its fragments were found in a residential area of the city of Narasino in the Chiba Prefecture next to the capital.
