The mummy exhibited in the Museum was a mixture of dirt and cereal grains

The national Maritime Museum Haifa (Israel) for a long time exhibited a couple of sarcophagi with mummies, however, their authenticity has long been questioned among experts. Recently, it became clear that the suspicions of the specialists were not unfounded.

One of the sarcophagi, whose age, according to the official version, has about three millennia, was sent to the laboratory for additional research, and found that it is filled with ordinary mud weight mixed with cereals.

Medical expert Marcia of Gavitt initially thought that the larger sarcophagus can still be human remains, and children, but the CT gave an unambiguous answer: no body.

Specialist antiquities Ron Hillel said that it is not a surprise: scientists known so-called "grain" or "corn" of the mummy, which actually was a fake body, created in honour of Osiris.

The second sarcophagus is literally more substantial: it was stored the mummy of a bird, likely a Falcon, associated with the cult of the God Horus.
