Coventry's skyline was lit up by a strange sight over the weekend when a mysterious beam of light lit up the city sky.
A strong beam of blue-green light could be seen all over the city on Saturday evening (October 17), which caused a lot of activity on social networks.
There have been all sorts of speculations about the cause of the beam, with theories ranging from messages of solidarity during the pandemic to aliens, Batman, or even Lord Voldemort.
One thing is clear: the laser beam came from the courtyard of the Bayley Lane Kitchen restaurant in the city center and was visible for miles.
The blue-green beam of light came from a laser, which is considered "the most powerful laser display in the world." According to Matt Lawrence of the Quantum laser company, the UK Civil Aviation Authority was notified in advance of the tests.
