This year, the Oosterlicht can be seen in all the municipalities of Achterhoek.

The Silvoldenaar Hans van den Hurk project, started five years ago with a light pyramid of lamps in Terborg, Etten, Sylvold and Ulft, is now expanding to 24 lamps. Last year, there were eleven of them. The lamp will now also be installed in the German border villages of Sudervik and Isselburg.

The goal of the project is to establish the connection of the regions in the dark time of the day during Christmas is for bringing people together. All lamps will be lit daily from December 19 to January 6 (Epiphany) from 17: 00 to 23: 00.
