According to experts, such a unique phenomenon occurs on rivers with a slow flow as follows: layers of water of different temperatures come into contact with each other, twist in the form of a funnel and begin to rotate the ice floe that broke off. The ice floe grinds off and takes the form of an almost perfect circle.

According to naturalist Pavel Sitnikov, one of the reasons for the whirlpool that formed the circle may be a large snag at the bottom of the river. The movement of the whirlpool prevented the edge from freezing, which formed a circle. During his life, a connoisseur of nature Sitnikov has seen this only a couple of times.
