A resident of Michigan turned to specialists with a request to evaluate the stone, which had been lying on his farm for decades, for meteoritic origin. The result exceeded expectations.
According to a geologist from the University of Michigan, Mona Sirbescu, this is the most valuable sample of all that she had to hold in her hands, not only financially, but also from a scientific point of view.
The object was given the name "Edmore". This is a large meteorite made of an alloy of iron and nickel, which has lain for about three decades as a stopper for a barn door on a farm. It was found by the former owners back in the 30s of the last century after they once saw with their own eyes the fall of a cosmic body and arrived at the resulting funnel to dig up fragments of an extraterrestrial guest.
The exact cost of "Edmore" is still not clear, but is it worth thinking about money when fate throws such priceless episodes into your biography?
