Kp-the index of geomagnetic activity has increased to indicator 7 (the highest indicator is 9). This indicates a level 3 magnetic storm (the maximum level is level 5)

The reason was the M1.7 solar flare. Class M is a strong flare, followed by class X — the highest. It happened 2 days ago.

For 4 years, only 4 storms of this level have been observed on the planet. Due to magnetic disturbances, some of the most intense northern lights in 2021 are recorded. Bright auroras were seen over Scandinavia, Canada, and residents of the north of Russia were lucky.
