China has always been famous for its strange natural phenomena, and another one has recently been discovered. We are talking about the Qiantang River in Zhejiang Province, where an amazing phenomenon is observed, which scientists have called the "fish scale" tide.

In 2021, during a scientific expedition, researchers discovered that under certain conditions, the tide on the Qiantang River comes in spiral waves that resemble fish scales on the surface of the water. This unique natural phenomenon has become known as the "fish scale" tide.

The mouth of the Qiantang River has long been famous for having the strongest tidal waves in the world, whose height sometimes reaches nine meters. Impressive waves moving upstream against the current are regularly observed in this area. However, the new phenomenon has attracted the attention of scientists and other researchers.

From the researchers' point of view, the cause of the fish scale tide is still not clear. Different sources offer different theories. Some scientists believe that this phenomenon is due to rotating currents that can change direction. These currents can create unusual conditions in which two groups of waves collide at oblique angles, creating an unusual visual effect.

According to information from INF News, astronomy, topography and wind direction are also considered key factors affecting the fish scale tide. The moon and the sun, as well as the shape of the estuary, play an important role in this amazing natural phenomenon. The estuary of the Qiantang River is narrow at its mouth, but widens significantly where the river flows into the sea.

Research on this mysterious phenomenon continues, and scientists hope to unravel its secrets.
