"Onslaught" (English "Rush") is the fifth episode of the seventh season of the TV series "The X–Files". The episode belongs to the "monster of the week" type and is not related to the main "mythology" of the series.
FBI agents Mulder and Scully are investigating the strange murder of a policeman, the main suspect in which is a schoolboy. They discover that he and a couple of his friends have gained the ability to accelerate their movements to such an extent that they are no longer perceived by the human eye.
Phenomena in artwork: Paranormal abilities
People trapped in an abnormal cave gain the ability to move at great speed. Switching between normal and accelerated movements occurs at their request. The spoof is valid only for a while (several hours or days), after which a second visit to the cave is required.
For some reason, the abnormal zone affects only teenagers. Middle-aged and older people walk around the cave and do not experience any special sensations.
Bodies that are not adapted to the overloads that occur when moving at high speed are depleted and gradually destroyed.
