Jenglot (jenglot [DʒɛŋlɔT]) is a creature from Indonesian culture and mythology.
It is reported that Jenglot first mysteriously appeared in Indonesia, in particular, on the island of Java, in 1997.
He is several inches tall and looks like a tiny human being, but with sharp fangs, long nails and long hair.
According to Indonesian legend, the first jenglot was an ascetic who wanted to learn "Ilmu Bethara Karang" or the path to eternal life. He was a hermit who worshipped demons and thereby gained strength and abilities. It is also said that if a person with great supernatural power meditates in a certain cave, then he will become a jenglot.
Jenglot can be found in Indonesia, in particular on the island of Java. They are usually found by people with psychic abilities after a supernatural ceremony. Djenglots, as they say, can be found anywhere: underground, on the roofs of houses, even in the hollow of a large tree.
The "keepers" of the Jenglots feed them with animal or human blood. Those who feed the creature with human blood buy it legally from the Indonesian Red Cross. They say that jenglots do not drink blood directly, but receive nutrients differently, others claim that they consume blood only when they are alone.
People believe that jenglot can make people richer if they are given blood to eat.
