Yuri Borisovich Larionov writes to the Commission on the:

In the newspaper "Trud" dated January 30, 1985, I read an article entitled "Exactly at 4.10 ..." and after some hesitation decided to write to you.

The fact is that I witnessed a phenomenon similar to the one described in the newspaper and coinciding with it in some details. The reason for my hesitation was that it happened more than 11 years ago, on August 7, 1973 in the Atlantic Ocean. Consequently, due to the statute of limitations, this event may not be of any interest to the Commission. But after a little thought, I decided to write. Maybe, in combination with other facts unknown to me, my message will bring at least a small benefit. I want to say right away that many details have already been forgotten and I will tell you only what I remember very well.

On August 2 or 3, 1973 (unfortunately, I do not remember the exact date), the BMRT Pulkovo, on which I worked as a sailor, left the fishing area located on the Bolshaya Newflandskaya Banna (Sable Island area) in the western Atlantic, and headed for Leningrad. On August 6, we received a message that it was dangerous to pass, it is being closed on August 7 at 19 o'clock local time for the passage of all vessels in connection with the conduct of naval exercises in it. We passed this area on the afternoon of August 7 at 20 o'clock (ship time) I took over the running watch together with the third mate Oleg Anatolyevich Gomanov and another sailor, whose last name I don't remember now. Having blunted the watch, I asked the navigator to help me in solving the control task.

He agreed and I went to my cabin in 10 minutes, I found the navigator and the second watchman looking at something intently through binoculars. to my question "What happened?" the navigator told me the following.

About a minute after I left, a strong light source appeared right in the course of the ship. The impression was that a ship's searchlight, similar to those used for filming movies, was lit on the bow of the ship, and the beam was directed at the wheelhouse. The flash was short, but so powerful that, according to the expression of the second watchman, he did not see anything for several seconds after the flash.

The navigator immediately rushed to the radar station "Don". However, the radar did not show a single object in its visibility zone. Then the two of them began to look at the ocean through binoculars and soon discovered three glowing multicolored dots in the air above the horizon at about an angle of 30-35 degrees. Red, green and it seems blue.

The dots formed an obtuse triangle about the size of a penny coin and periodically flashed and went out. I saw this triangle without binoculars. The dots flashed with about a period of 0.5 seconds.

After about 10-15 minutes, under this "color triangle" we found a bright spot resembling the lights of a city located beyond the horizon. The radar station "Don" still did not show a single object in its visibility zone.

At about 21-30, a bright red dot flashed in the center of this luminous "spot" (on the horizon line), and a few seconds later the entire light "spot" was covered with multicolored lights resembling a Christmas tree garland. At about the same time, the radar "Don" began to show the boundaries of the glowing object. However, strong interference immediately began, and so strong that the radar had to be turned off (one of the three was constantly at the radar). However, at that moment we still did not realize that it was interference, deciding that the radar was simply out of order. Therefore, we switched to work with the Donets radar, which is less powerful than the Don radar is about 50 miles, and the Donets radar is about 30 miles. There was no interference on the radar.

And the events unfolded as follows. over this light "spot" appeared smaller light "spots", which I took for helicopters. The fact is that we immediately linked the phenomenon we observed with naval exercises that took place just at that time in the area I mentioned at the beginning, and decided that we were facing one of the large warships (aircraft carrier or helicopter carrier).

These "light spots" moved over the "big spot" at relatively shallow speeds (obviously lower than that of a jet aircraft). At the same time, "the garland went out as suddenly as it appeared. By that time, the object entered the visibility zone of the Donets radar and interference began on it. (only then did we guess that it was interference). The radar had to be turned off. And all signs of "life" stopped at the facility.

The "color triangle" in the sky disappeared: the movement over the object stopped. For about 24 hours, we turned on the radar "Don", which began to show the object very well in the form of a blurry spot about the size of a 3-kopeck coin (on the radar screen), which indicated a very large size of the object. At 24 o'clock we handed over the watch to the second mate, telling him about everything we had seen.

The third mate and the watchman went to rest, and I stayed specifically in order to "detect" the distance to the object on the PCD (mobile range circle) radar at the moment when it will be on our beam (the direction to the object perpendicular to the ship's course.

This happened at about 0-30 ship time. The object was 4.5 miles away from us (I measured to the edge of the spot).

Visually, the object looked like a massive light cloud lying on the water with its lower edge.\ the next day, the crew violently discussed the phenomenon we had seen. then we agreed that the object has a direct connection with the naval exercises that took place.

That's all I can tell you.

Unfortunately, I don't remember our coordinates that day. approximately 47-50 degrees north latitude and 35-40 degrees west longitude. We started observing the object at about 20-20 (the moment of the ray's appearance) and parted with it around 0-30. The ship's speed was 15 knots.

Pyrotechnics

This category includes not only pyrotechnic projectiles visible in the sky, but also traces of exploded projectiles, their fragments and other similar activities.

Pyrotechnics is a branch of technology related to the technology of preparing combustible compounds and burning them to obtain a certain signal or effect.

Divided into:

Booster, the rocket and tracks

For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.

Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
