Astrakhan oblast attacked the multi-million army of locusts. Swarms of voracious insects seen in lymans'ke Ikraninskiy, Kamyzyaksky and Narimanov districts. Eyewitnesses describe the flow of locusts as "endless".

In Ikraninskiy district grey clouds of insects flew without a stop from 12 noon to 7 PM.

Although the Moroccan locust is visiting Astrakhan oblast every year, this summer the infestation is unusually large. Severely affected the crop: larvae of agricultural pest discovered by 15.46 thousands of hectares of fields; imago (adult) — 25,59 thousand hectares.

In Kamyzyaksky and Limansky districts declared a state of high alert. In late July, the dominance of locusts was observed in Dagestan. Swarms of insects were so numerous that reduced visibility on the road. Because of this, and a slippery layer of crushed pests happen a traffic accident.
