Today, a message began to spread in telegram channels about the appearance of many small beetles in Moscow after the rain, which worried users. Some eyewitnesses reported that there are so many insects that they completely cling to the windows.
The press service of Rospotrebnadzor reassured Muscovites: insects (namely— herbivorous bugs) are not dangerous to humans or animals, RIA Novosti reports.
Vadim Maryinsky, a researcher at the Department of General Ecology and Hydrobiology of the Faculty of Biology of Moscow State University, explained in an interview with Moscow 24 that there are very few dangerous insects in the capital, so there is nothing to be afraid of. The specialist also noted that heat and humidity are very favorable conditions for insects, which is why they are very active today.
