Astronomers from the European space Agency (ESA) had hoped to capture something like the ISS is moving in the Sun, but the result was much more than I wanted.
The picture was made in 2013, but ESA has published it on 4 October. It shows the Sun crosses not only space station, but a bird. And this despite the fact that the shooting only lasted 1.2 seconds. Unique the managed to make the astronomy club of ESA in Madrid.
"It takes a plan, patience and luck, — say the representatives of the club. — In order to photograph the station, the camera must be placed at the right time in the right place, because the moving speed of the ISS is about 28 000 kilometers per hour. At this speed the photographer has only a second to capture the object. And if suddenly a moment will be missed or the ISS block of the cloud, then have to wait another few weeks."
As reported by ESA, the station is at a distance of about 400 kilometers from Earth, it allowed the astronomy club to calculate at what distance from the camera flying bird — 86 metres from the lens. Due to the difference in size and distance of the bird and the ISS in the photo the same size.
